Glow in the dark

Article Abstract:

Three research teams have confirmed and extended Puget's findings that the infrared background can be used to determine the expansion of the universe. The infrared data had to be 'cleaned' by subtracting the light emitted by dust in the solar system as well as those coming from nearby galaxies.

The flip side of the universe: new cosmological observations confirm inflation

Article Abstract:

The results obtained by the QMAP team essentially confirms the findings of the Cosmic Microwave Background Explorer satellite regarding the flatness of the universe which supports the inflation theory. The QMAP team used a high-altitude baloon to collect cosmic radiation data.
