The future of the behavioral and social sciences

There are five ways to meet the increasing needs for social science research at a time when funding is decreasing. These challenges include integrating data sets, improving study coverage, developing new methodologies, developing international studies and integrating research methods.

A Department of Science (and Technology)?

Article Abstract:

There is a strong possibility that Congress will reorganize and consolidate the current pluralistic government R&D system. The consolidation plan raises many questions about the future of science policy. The scientific community must play a major role in the reorganization process.

The R&D portfolio: a concept for allocating science and technology funds

Article Abstract:

Treating science and technology funding as an investment in the national budget, as opposed to an item of consumption, will enable progress to continue in science and technology research as funds continue to be reduced or cut altogether.
