The house that junk built

The National Assn of Home Builders Research Foundation has built a 'Resource Conservation House' in Upper Marlboro, MD, constructed with approximately 90% recycled waste materials. The recycled material ranges from a steel frame made from demolished bridges to newspapers used for insulation.

Outdoor concert halls

Article Abstract:

Jaffe/Holden/Scarbrough Acoustics has developed an amplification system for the Carlos Moseley outdoor pavilion in New York City. The system not only carries the original sound to all areas of the pavilion, but it also simulates the same reverberations that would occur in a concert hall.
