The next hop: can wallabies replace the lab rat?
Article Abstract:
The Australian wallaby is becoming the preferred laboratory animal choice of many developmental biologists since the wallaby's unique gestation enables easier access to the wallaby embryo. Scientists are able to monitor the progress of embryonic development through the wallaby embryo, which is contained in the pouch.
