Toward Greener Chemistry

Article Abstract:

Homogeneous catalysts have advantages over other catalytic systems but it is difficult and expensive to separate the catalyst from the product. Strategies that immobilize the catalyst in a liquid phase are being developed. The immobilized catalyst can easily be removed from the product. The approach is called biphasic catalysis.
