The pressure at the center of the Earth can be estimated using a very small device because all atoms follow the properties of matter regardless of number. Two diamonds pressing against one another will change phase at about 12 megabars.

A series of orbital encounters can be termed the 'Poincare shuffle,' referring to the French mathematician Jules-Henri Poincare. This concept can be clearly shown through computer simulations of celestial dynamics.

Giant against giant in the dark

Squids can measure as long as 60 feet, move fast and eat fish and smaller squids. They are excellent predators but they, in turn, become prey to the giant sperm whale. Men, too, hunt them for food.
