Waste away

Article Abstract:

Landfill sites in Britian are becoming scarcer and subject to stricter controls and legislation, increasing the cost of waste disposal. Companies will have to address the problem of waste management to avoid the 'polluter pays' principle. Preferred methods of waste management include eliminating or minimising waste with the use of clean technology, re-use of waste, and recycling of waste. Other options include recovering energy from waste material and the anaerobic digestion of organic waste.
