What fate for brominated fire retardants?

Article Abstract:

Article about the widespread distribution and environmental effects of polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants and the global attention these chemicals are beginning to get. Researchers and environmental groups are worried about emerging pollution problems and health effects in humans and animals.

Treatment of combined bleach plant effluents via wet oxidation over a Pd-Pt-Ce/Alumina catalyst

Article Abstract:

Use of a successful catalyst benefits the treatment of bleach plant effluents and other organic wastes. Under experimental conditions in wastewater solution, the Pd-Pt-Ce/alumina catalyst reflects reasonable stability and high initial activity.
