Where do turtles go?

Article Abstract:

Paleontologist Olivier Rieppel utilized cladistics in examining evidence and formulating his conclusions that turtles belonged to the diapsid category rather than the apsid branch of the reptile family. The conclusion was based on the examination of the ankles of turtles, which resembled that of the tuatara and lizards.

The mother of mass extinction

Article Abstract:

The history of life underwent a monumental change 250 million years ago in response to a mass extinction that destroyed 90% of all ocean life and two-thirds of reptile and amphibian live. The life-forms that disappeared allowed surviving life-forms to expand and new life-forms to evolve.
