Laws protecting the cultural and religious heritage of native peoples has enforced the reburial of ancient bones which archaeologists count on for clues to the history of civilization. Natives have won out over scientists in Australia, Israel and the US, threatening the future of the science.

Zeroing in on how hormones affect the immune system

Article Abstract:

Researchers are discovering that women's immunological superiority is closely tied to the reproductive cycle. Estrogens tend to enhance women's immune systems while androgens tend to suppress men's immune systems. Current research on gender-based immune system differences is discussed.

Attacking the causes of "silent" infertility

Article Abstract:

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) may cause low grade inflammations that interfere with fertility in both men and women. STDs are a stronger risk factor for infertility in women because the diseases often go unrecognized and untreated.
