Wood Buffalo woes: the threats to North America's largest national park prove that size does not matter

Article Abstract:

Wood Buffalo National Park is facing a number of threatening challenges, including disease within the world's largest free roaming bison herd, radical ecological changes to the Peace-Athabasca delta, pollution from outside industries, and plans to build a road through the park without a full environmental assessment.

Article Abstract:

A traveller narrates his experience in hiking the Tuktuk Nogait National Park in the central Artic with three friends. They were able to hike Hornaday canyons and see a number of caribou herds as well as ford a tundra. He also narrates how one of his friends got lost in the thick fog.

A gift that keeps giving

Article Abstract:

An overview is presented of the Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary, which is located near Edmonton, in Canada. The sanctuary attracted five thousand visitors in 2000 and is home to 100 different species of birds and a range of different mammals.
