p75(super NTR): a receptor after all

Article Abstract:

The receptor p75(NTR) seemed to have equal affinity for all neurotrophins, and its function remained obscure. Now Bruce Carter and colleagues have shown that p75(NTR) is a receptor for nerve growth factor (NGF), as originally suspected, that mediates signalling responses in Schwann cells.

A new receptor for growth hormone-release peptide

Article Abstract:

Researchers have cloned the receptor that regulates the release of growth hormone, confirming that a route in addition to the growth hormone release peptide (GHRP) exists for the regulation of growth hormone. The next step is to identify the endogenous ligand for the receptor.
