Aging selectively impairs recollection in recognition memory for pictures: Evidence from modeling and receiver operating characteristic curves

Article Abstract:

Young and older adults were tested on recognition memory for pictures. Estimates of recollection from the Yonelinas high threshold model were significantly higher for young than for older adults.

Recollection and familiarity in recognition memory: Adult age differences and neuropsychological test correlates

Article Abstract:

Recollection and familiarity estimates were examined in young and older adults across three process estimation methods. Recollection estimates were lower for older adults in all three methods.
