Back to basics: diuretics as first-line agents in the treatment of hypertension

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to compare the safety and efficacy of low-dose diuretics with those of five active first-line therapies for major cardiovascular disease endpoints and all cause mortality. The conclusion states that low-dose siuretics are the most effective first-line treatment for reducing the risk of CVD morbidity and mortality.

The cost effect of newer medication adoption in an older Medicaid cohort
