Dementias that present with and without posterior cortical features: an important clinical distinction

Article Abstract:

Several scales are available to distinguish between dementia with and without posterior cortical features. Alzheimer's disease is a typical dementia that affects the posterior cortex as well as the frontal system. However, other types of dementia affect the frontal system only, and these are often potentially reversible. Thus, it is important to distinguish between the two. Several scales that can do so are discussed.
