Differential effects of raloxifene and estrogen on insulin sensitivity in postmenopausal women

Article Abstract:

A test of the effect of estrogen and raloxifene treatment of postmenopausal women was conducted to see if raloxifene would increase insulin sensitivity. Estrogen maintained insulin sensitivity, but raloxifene actually reduced women's sensitivity to insulin.

Effects of ultra-low-dose estrogen therapy on muscle and physical function in older women

Article Abstract:

The impact of ultra-low-dose estrogen therapy on muscle and physical function in elderly women is examined. It is shown that hormone therapy can have no effect on appendicular skeletal muscle mass and physical performance.
