Non-competition agreements for television anchors or broadcast personalities should be carefully prepared and address all possible scenarios. Agreements should specifically block all other work in a market, or specify type of competitor: television, radio, or, in the rapidly changing broadcast industry, the Internet. New language can be added to contracts not currently up for renewal, although consideration may have to offered in such instances.
