Recognition of late-life depression in home care: accuracy of the outcome and assessment information set

Article Abstract:

The accuracy of home care nurses' ratings of the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) depression items is evaluated. The nurse OASIS ratings were found inaccurate in reflecting depression in older homecare patients receiving skilled nursing care and living alone was the main factor responsible for the poorer recognition of depression.
