Article Abstract:

Several medical journals have reported mixed results in the evaluation of alternative remedies for hot flashes, postmenopausal symptoms, and high cholesterol, and controversy regarding nontraditional treatment of cancer. Soy protein appears to be effective in reducing hot flashes and other symptoms in postmenopausal women, but dong quai appears to be largely ineffective. Rhubarb fiber may modestly lower blood cholesterol levels, similar to guar and psyllium fiber. A Norwegian study reports that 45% of cancer patients have tried an unproven cancer remedy.

However, the experts feel that there could be volatility in political polls due to the flaws in the way pollsters identify likely voters, which is caused by the interviewees not telling the complete truth.
