Stress-related cognitive interference predicts cognitive function in old age

Article Abstract:

The association among subjective distress and cognitive inference and cognition in old age is examined since subjective distress and cognitive interference are caused due to negative effects of stress on cognition. Results confirm that stress-related cognitive interference depletes attentional resources and is associated with lower working memory performance in older adults, processing speed and episodic memory ability.

Application of the diffusion model to two-choice tasks for adults 75-90 years old

Article Abstract:

Five tasks were used to study the effects of aging on simple 2-choice decision making using the diffusion model, whereby data from 75 to 90 year olds were compared with data from 60 to 75 year olds and college students. It was seen that decision criteria and nondecision components of processing increased with participants' age, compared with those of college students.
