TV better stop ignoring us

Article Abstract:

Television executives and advertisers have the false impression that viewers aged 50 and over are not part of the buying population. Therefore, there is hardly any program designed for them. Baby boomers do have substantial buying power. When they change brands, it is usually upscale, not down.

Why we have been better than today's 20-year-olds

Article Abstract:

Contemporary 20-year-olds seem to be a lot less informed yet more arrogant for their ignorance than their counterparts in the previous generation. Yesterday's youngsters were more active in political and moral debates and were, consequently, more caring about their community.

Is the orderly life better than all this change?

Living in one place for a number of years has its charms in terms of familiarity of surroundings and people. Staying put has the advantage of not having to adjust to the variety of people, situations and places that migrating from one place of work to another brings.
