Adoption and diffusion of drip irrigation technology: an econometric analysis

Article Abstract:

The factors that affect the choice of drip irrigation in the sugar industry of Hawaii were determined. The direction and magnitude of the impacts of the choices on the yields were also assessed. An analytical model for the interdependence between production and choice decision is presented. The econometric analysis of irrigation technology choice was based on panel data. The findings suggest that irrigation-specific features in addition to technical, informational, locational and management factors influence individual decisions on drip irrigation choice.

Managing large-scale technology and inter-organizational relations: the case of the Channel Tunnel

Article Abstract:

Decision-making efficiency and technological flexibility play a crucial role in managing large-scale construction projects and inter-organizational works. It was revealed that the Channel Tunnel development project in Europe is hindered by lack of capital strength, disorganized unit size and mismanagement of specialized infrastructure and lead time. The construction is further undermined by lack of partnering and mutual approach.
