How aging is covered in the print media

Article Abstract:

This article examines the 'news value' of aging in the print media, specifically in newspapers, claiming that while papers make an effort to diversify by covering stories about minorities, they continue to ignore the elderly. The author, a journalist, suggests that the newsroom is affected by "ageism" and that many reporters show little concern with issues that the aged face, even though their readers find the stories important and compelling.
