Comparison of the educational deficiencies of delinquent and nondelinquent students

Article Abstract:

The differences in educational deficiencies between a statewide sample of delinquent students and a matched sample of nondelinquent students are assessed. These documented educational deficiencies may play an integral role in the process of delinquency and, therefore, pose a number of public policy implications in relation to the prevention and treatment of delinquency.

Treated and untreated alcohol-use disorders: course and predictors of remission and relapse

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the long-term course of treated and untreated alcohol-use disorders. A survey was conducted on 461 individuals who sought help for alcohol problems. Results show that individuals who were treated were more likely to attain remission compared with those who remained untreated.

Facilitating self-determination in adolescents with intellectual disabilities: A curriculum

Article Abstract:

The social validation analyses of a Belgian self-determination curriculum that was developed from a French-Canadian curriculum is described. The findings highlight that the curriculum actually supports the conceptual framework of self-determination.
