Deciphering The Labyrinth: The influence of Georg Simmel on the sociology of Octavio Paz

Article Abstract:

The influence and the intellectual link between Georg Simmel's thinking on 'The Labyrinth of Solitude' is decrypted. The influence of Georg Samuel's thinking on sociology with Octavio Paz is that they both use dualism as their main tool for analysis and the interwoven nature of diversity of the social world could be observed in their analysis and social forms and types are revealed to attract the destiny of a particular age.

Simmel briefly touches on the theme of love, but he never finished developing the reflections on love found in his notes and aphorisms.

Article Abstract:

A rehabilitation of Jewish stereotype in a singular way was attempted by Georg Simmel via his theory of modernity and the quintessential place held therein by money. Simmel's attempt is made in terms of existential authenticity and in direct relation to the project of modernity.
