Employees' reactions to problematic events: a circumplex structure of five categories of responses, and the role of job satisfaction

Article Abstract:

The exit, voice. loyalty and neglect typology devised by Farrell (1983) presents a refined manner of categorizing voice responses. Farrell's approach dwells on the use of two voice response types, one being the considerate voice which pertains to the actions that both reflect the concerns of both actors and organizations; and the aggressive voice, which reflects an employee's single-sided considerations. Results obtained from a factor analyses involving 233 teachers revealed that considerate voice tends to elicit a positive impact on job satisfaction.
