Flexible work schedules and mental and physical health. A study of a working population with non-traditional working hours

Article Abstract:

The possible effects of flexible working hours on employee health and well-being have been studied. Four hundred and eighty subjects between 20 and 60 years were asked to complete the 21-item Subjective Health Questionnaire on such matters as work situation, subjective physical health, psychological well-being and quality of sleep. Results showed workers on rotating shifts, compressed weeks and irregular hours had more health complaints. They also had more psychological and sleeping problems than workers who have fixed schedules.

Not all is fair in love and work: coworkers' preferences for and responses to managerial interventions regarding workplace romances

Article Abstract:

The impact of managerial intervention in romances between people at work is examined in detail, in terms of how other workers perceive this, and links between this impact of such romances on the environment at work.

Predicting collective climates: assessing the role of shared work values, needs, employee interaction and work group membership
