Gls waging 'straight up war' in Afghanistan

Article Abstract:

The US troops stepped up their campaign against Taliban and Al Qaeda forces in the southern and eastern provinces of the country leading up to the Afghanistan's first parliamentary election on September 18th 2005. Many Army and Air force soldiers lost their lives in Afghanistan's deadliest actions and their courage is clearly shown by the 31,712 awards given for service between December 5, 2001 and April 30 2005 to Army personals alone.

Article Abstract:

VFW sponsors 12 Vietnam War Purple Heart recipients to attend Operation Welcome Home parade between Gass Avenue and Fremont Street as a tribute on Veterans Day weekend on November 11, 2005. The Purple Heart Recipients share their experiences of the parade, which had 3600 people, and aimed at benefiting the war wounded soldiers.

'Always with honor'

Article Abstract:

The issue of whether the ceremonies for returning remains of Americans killed should be made public through media coverage, or not is discussed. Some are against the publicity since they feel that it only has to do with the feelings of sadness and empathy and views of the family members of solders.
