The Rationalitatstreit revisited: a note on Roth's "Methodological Pluralism"

Article Abstract:

The empirically testing translation manuals is not possible given a special criteria. There is a distinction between the philosophy of social science and the philosophy of science. However, the methodological plurality thesis suggest the possibility of having more than one translation manual. Both are not necessarily underdetermined. The possibility of adjudicating between translation manuals is the central thesis of the resolution of the Rationalitatstreit.

Norms, invariance, and explanatory relevance

Article Abstract:

The explanatory descriptions of social norms are argued. A generalization with a significant degree of invariance involving a group or society is provided by the descriptions of norms.
