On measuring literacy
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to characterize a novel approach to analyzing the aggregate literacy level in a nation or area. The literacy measure supports the intrahousehold externality resulting from the presence of a literate member. An empirical illustration was utilized to describe the properties of the novel measure. Results indicated that the method supported a broader range of applications, including an expanded environment.

Approaches to understanding young driver risk taking
Article Abstract:
An Analytical study is carried out on crashes resulting from risky driving behavior among 16-20 year old drivers in the state of Alabama during 1999-2003. It is observed that risk taking is more problematic than DUI in the 16-20 years age group because movies and TV have conditioned young people both to respect risk-takers and to act out risky behavior on the roadway.
