Marche region, a "marginal" area in Italy: Participation in and exclusion from the Mediterranean megalopolis

Article Abstract:

Marche is an area of transition between the geographical North and South of Italy as well as between its different social paradigms, half-way between a fast-paced and a slower lifestyle between a secluded agricultural past and a networked future. The strengthening of the existing network requires a cultural growth capable of exploiting the interdependence between local situations and global requirements and the reinforcement of the economic structure by the creation of centers of excellence that can sustain the high-technology drive of productive activities.

How not to think about rules and rule following: A response to stueber

Article Abstract:

A critique of Karsten Stueber's account of rule following as presented in his article 'How to Think about Rules and Rule Following' is presented. Stueber's defense of rules as normative guides is shown to be either circular or burdened with an infinite regress, while his account of rules as causal determinants of our actions is shown to lapse back into the 'cognitive model' that he explicitly rejects.

The long road to Megalopolis

Article Abstract:

Megapolis, which was a natural evolution of Gottmann's theoretical work on political geography, is described. A transition from a political geography of nation-states to a new geography of nodes and networks at the scale of time is discussed.
