Measuring innovative performance: is there an advantage in using multiple indicators?

Article Abstract:

The innovative performance of a large international sample of nearly 1200 companies in four high-tech industries is studied using a variety of indicators. This study establishes a composite construct based on the four indicators, Research & Development inputs, patent counts and patent citations to new product announcements that clearly catches a latent variable 'innovative performance'.

Adoption of green chemistry: an analysis based on US patents

Article Abstract:

It is observed that in the United States, there is a rise in innovations that are environment friendly. Main contributories of this type of scientific research are the government and universities while most of industrial research is oriented on fetching chemistry. The industry is yet to adopt this green chemistry in large scale as it has regulatory implications.

Implications of mergers and acquisitions in high-tech industries on acquiring firm's innovations are analyzed. Impact of knowledge bases of firms involved in the process on innovations is also examined.
