Article Abstract:
Media institute a theoretical oscillation between phenomenology and materiality that promises to displace the empirical-transcendental divide that structure western meditation on thinking. A study traces the oscillation constitutive of the complex hermeneutics thus formed and conceptualizes the medium as an environment for life, that is, by giving concrete form to 'epiphylogenesis', concrete media find their most originary function through their participation in human technogenesis.

Studies reveal that all media begin as a potential in the bodies, expand into the public domain, creating a world, and finally end again in the body as a way of being, a range of feeling, a belief system. Media theory studies this path and states that media have two limits, that is, they cannot make contact with the extramedial, and when translated into software, media lose their identity and become part of something beyond media theory.
