Multiple-objective methods in regulatory decision making: a conceptual framework applied to U.S. automobile safety standards

Article Abstract:

Multiple-objective methods used in the development of automobile safety regulations reveal that scalar objective approaches are useful in qualifying factors but have little use in quantifying them. The approach reveals that it may be used in enhancing decision making skills for regulatory mechanisms in the public domain since they highlight qualitative factors. The study involved the use of multiple objective approach in determining its effects in automobile safety regulations.
