Science-religion dialogue: Fifth European Conference on Science and Theology, 1994

Article Abstract:

The Fifth European Conference on Science and Theology, 1994, signified the need for the mutual openings of religion and science in evolving an intersubjective framework to reduce the conceptual barrier between the two fields of inquiry. The discussion varied from the coherence theory of truth to the distinction between philosophies of science and its practical application. Scientific discoveries and their ethical aspects are discussed.

The Third Yugoslavia: Illyrian league of autonomous republics?

Article Abstract:

Peace, democratization, economic and political regeneration, and the establishment of a democratic Third Yugoslavia may arise from the civil war-torn country. However, this requires a true civic culture and civil society in the Yugoslav successor states based on democratic values, pluralism and tolerance. It must also be based on the idea of universal human rights, constitutionalism and equality in the eyes of the law.

The quest for transcendence

Article Abstract:

The search for the Holy Grail symbolizes man's never-ending struggle to achieve transcendence and the continuous quest for meaning, redemption and perfection. Moreover, the quest is gaining significance with the emergence of postmodernism and the ethical, personal and moral questions that it raises. These issues are expected to link the concepts of fundamentalism and liberalism.
