Patriotism means bolstering troop morale

Article Abstract:

The Troops Committee , a group of concerned citizens and leaders from Post 115 are standing up for GIs serving in Afghanistan, Iraq and other hot spots around the world as they are gathering every Tuesday for more than a year to proclaim their support for the US troops. However this group made up of Post members and the wives and mothers of those serving or those who have served, has yet to get its due from the local press.

The stress of war for those serving in Iraq is less than that in Vietnam but more than that in Persian Gulf. In a survey conducted in a combat zone 77% of the 756 soldiers surveyed reported low, 52% reported low personal morale, and 72% reported low unit morale.
