Systemism, social mechanisms, and scientific progress: A case study of the international crisis behavior project

Article Abstract:

Systemism and social mechanism are concepts from the philosophy of science with great potential for application to assessment of progress in interdisciplinary fields. The study used the conceptual tools made available by systemism and social mechanism to evaluate the international crisis behavior project as a scientific effort towards the greater understanding of crisis in world politics.

Systemism, social laws, and the limits of social theory: Themes out of Mario Bune's the sociology-philosophy connection

Article Abstract:

A few interconnected problems that Mario Bunge addresses in his 'The sociology-philosophy connection', which is seen as a continuation and summary of his major volumes are presented. The most problematic solutions are discussed wherein his proposal to expel charlatans from universities his treatment of social laws his notions of mechanisms.

Social boundary mechanisms

Article Abstract:

A preliminary inventory of mechanisms causing boundary change, consisting of boundary change and producing consequences of boundary change is provided. Two sets of mechanisms; those that precipitate boundary change and those that constitute boundary change are distinguished.
