Taking Second Amendment rights seriously

Article Abstract:

The central premise of the gun control movement is criticized, that a society becomes more civilized when citizens give up the right of self-defense, leaving to the state a monopoly of force. Gun control advocates must realize that they with surrendering the right to bear arms they become helpless victims of the state, dependent on the state's benevolence for their physical survival.

The Second Amendment: America's first freedom

Article Abstract:

The Second Amendment guarantees Americans the essential right to self-defense, allowing them to live without fear, and is the one right which allows rights to exist at all. Human nature teaches us that men are not always benevolent, which makes this right essential.

Our second amendment

Article Abstract:

Americans must move beyond the mistaken idea that responsible gun control is offensive to national rights. The Second Amendment states only that a firearms statute is unconstitional in the case of an adverse effect on a state's ability to maintain an army.
