Technological change, employment, and sustainability

Article Abstract:

Technological change does not necessarily translate into more jobs, therefore, sustainable development should focus on improving job stability for the population. The resulting equation reveals a bottleneck in the quest for sustainable development.

Selecting a variety of futures for scenario development

Article Abstract:

The process of futures selection for scenario development is a complex task that may be done using an integer linear program. Systematic development of future scenarios includes the identification of key factors that are consistent regardless of time and the selection of probable futures without biases. The resulting equation reveals unbiased scenarios where the key elements are not overly represented.
