Technological evolution of personal computers and market implications

Article Abstract:

A technical approach-based model is used to illustrate how the personal computer industry's technological evolution modified the market structure and the relationship of manufacturers and customers. Results show that the gap between the innovative and conservative user has decreased due to innovations in the personal computer industry. Technological innovations have also given personal computers the capacity for various multimedia applications, whereas before, personal computers are only used for information and text processing.

Technology measurement: A composite approach

Article Abstract:

A new composite measurement and procedure that identifies technological change is proposed. The five important classes of technological indicators are analyzed in terms of their strengths and weaknesses. Further, a model which fits the functional description is discussed followed by an appropriate test for the validity of such a model in high-tech transport aircraft manufacturing companies.
