Else Jaffe influenced the thought of both Otto Gross and Max Weber on the erotic. Else Jaffe, sister of Frieda Lawrence, was influential in Heidelberg society and academic life, while Otto Gross was a libertarian psychoanalyst. Else Jaffe wanted to initiate a dialogue between Gross and Weber but the gap between them was too great. The love letters of Otto Gross to Else Jaffe are published in an English translation, along with a transcription of the original German.
