Up close and personal: employee networks and job satisfaction in a human service context

Article Abstract:

The article examines work-related interpersonal relationships and employment experiences among human service workers to explore the connection between personal networks and job satisfaction. It is suggested that emotionally and spatially close relationships are positively related to both job satisfaction and opportunities for promotion.

Perceived intimate partner acceptance, remembered parental acceptance, and psychological adjustment among Colombian and Puerto Rican youths and adults

Article Abstract:

The study examines the way in which childhood experiences of parental acceptance affected the adult relationship and partner acceptance and psychological adjustment of Colombian and Puerto Rican youths and adults. The results indicate that maternal acceptance moderated the relationship between women's intimate partner acceptance.

The mating strategies and mate preferences of mail order brides

Article Abstract:

The two studies explored the mating strategies and mate preferences of mail order brides from three different countries namely Columbia, Russia and Philippines. Both studies confirmed the importance of characteristics, such as commitment, ambition and sexual fidelity with only minor cross-cultural variability.
