Accountability factors associated with the delivery of mental health services to children

Article Abstract:

Mental health service providers' lack of professional accountability is the primary cause of the decline in the number of families enrolling their mentally ill children to these health care facilities. Without master treatment plans, admission or constant monitoring done through frequent visits will not be justified and no document can be produced to prove the patient's claim for third party payments. In addition, this will continuously decrease the providers' number of sessions, total services and referrals.

The influence of the psychoanalytic community of emigres (1930-1950) on clinical social work with children

Article Abstract:

The influence of lay psychoanalysts who emigrated from Europe to the US before 1950 are evaluated. These non-medical practitioners experienced difficulty because whereas they were widely accepted in Europe, in the US they were barred from practice by an established psychoanalytic community that was dominated by psychiatry. As a result, emigrant lay therapists frequently shifted their energies to social work.
