Attitudes of male prisoners toward seeking professional psychological help

Article Abstract:

This article assesses the attitudes of male inmates toward seeking psychological help with the Attitudes Toward Seeking Professional Psychological Help Scale (ATSPPHS). The authors, employing the ATSPPHS, conclude male inmates have similar scores as other males in which both populations demonstrated treatment fears and psychological distress toward psychological helpseeking.

A comparison between Japanese and British research papers in key academic journals

Article Abstract:

Research articles published in Japanese journal "Studies on Social Work of Japan" and U.K. journal "British Journal of Social Work" are studied and compared. The findings reveal that U.K. social workers are more research minded than Japanese social workers but it does not mean that they are more knowledgeable.

Some reflections on social worker's perspectives on mental health services in two cities - Sydney, Australia and Budapest, Hungary

Article Abstract:

The nature of social work practice in mental health services, shaped by historical and political scenario, in Sydney and Budapest is presented. Social workers have used a service model of empowerment for giving service users a voice, thus encouraging a wider listening audience for their voices.
