Chinese Internet service providers regularly intercept emails that contain what the Chinese government believes are controversial keywords. The methods to avoid Chinese e-mail surveillance, laws regarding importation of absinthe and how to tell your twins how they were conceived are discussed.

China has built a $700 million system to filter the contents of the internet which they call "the Golden Shield". Censorship is easy to subvert with the help of downloadable tools but sometimes the system subverts itself by releasing a list of banned stories which tells the story anyway.
