Camp David and the 'Al-Aqsa Intifada': an assessment of the state of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, July-December 2000

Article Abstract:

This article explores the impact the 'Al-Aqsa Intifada' has had on the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. The author argues that the 'Inifada' strategy of shifting the blame of the failure of the Camp David summit from Yasser Arafat to Ehud Barak was initially successful, however, with Israel keep a firm position both need to continue negotiating.

This article examines the 1999 referendum in East Timor that brought about political change in Indonesia and violent challenges to the role of the military in the country.
