Causes and prevention of intellectual property crime

Article Abstract:

An analysis is conducted to study the types of activities that fall under intellectual property crime, the causes and theoretical arguments developed to understand intellectual property theft, and examine the prevention techniques. International victimization data would also be collected as well in order to understand the global impact of these types of offenses.

The future of international crime

Article Abstract:

The threat to US interests from international organized crime will probably be more diversified by 2010. The largest crime syndicates may become more self-sufficient, small groups with high-tech computer skills could implement sophisticated schemes, and scientific advances may permit criminal groups to produce new drugs such as synthetic cocaine and heroin.

Confronting the threat in Northern Ireland society from serious and organized crime

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the formation of an Organised Crime Task Force to develop a long term response to this problem. Strategic priorities for 2001/2 include reducing blackmail and extortion, disrupting the supply of illegal drugs, reduce the smuggling of fuel, tobacco, and alcohol, and halting money laundering.
