Alcohol expectancies: integrating cognitive science and psychometric approaches

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that the prediction of drinking can be estimated from a model representing expectancies for arousing and positive effects of alcohol. The model also accounts for the variance seen in self-reported drinking than expectancies for sedating and negative effects of alcohol drinking. Discussion of alternative models is also presented.
