Dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder: the psychological sequelae of Bloody Sunday and the response of state services

Article Abstract:

Many family members of Irish people involved in the civil unrest of Jan, 1972, called Bloody Sunday have shown high rates of psychological morbidity. New social services planning to be offered as a result of the peace process may offer social workers ways to help those with untreated post-traumatic stress disorder.

The development of a high-intensity parent training program for the treatment of moderate to severe child conduct problems

Article Abstract:

A home-based parent training program has been developed that includes instruction in time-out techniques to deal with behavior disorders in children. Effectiveness was assessed during training by direct observations of child and parent behavior and were found to maintain at a 3-month follow-up session.

Outline for the development of a screening procedure for children who have been sexually abused

Article Abstract:

This article provides a screening technique to determine how the stimulus equivalence paradigm can identify child sexual abuse. The purpose of this research is to refine the stimulus equivalence procedures so they may point to specific social experiences.
