E-Maps: a new HUD resource

Article Abstract:

E-Maps, created by combining databases of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Dept of Housing and Urban Development, provide detailed information on how projects will impact communities, such as air and drinking water quality. E-maps will also list and describe underutilized commercial and industrial facilities, clean-up activities and regulatory compliance.

Article Abstract:

The Integrated Disbursement Information System and other computerized systems created by the Department of Housing and Urban Development have been criticized by the General Accounting Office and local housing authorities for multiple system flaws. Both local officials and the GAO say these problems stem from lack of user input.
